Next year, the Victoria & Albert museum will
open its doors to an exhibition that will showcase the work of the late Lee
Alexander McQueen. The exhibition, entitled Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,
will cover the whole of the late designer's career, from his graduate
collection in 1992, to his final unfinished collection in 2010. Formerly being
shown in New York, which successfully was seen by over 661 509 visitors over
the four months that it was open, It is now being brought to London, opening in
March 2015.
From my perspective as a Fashion Promotion student,
I will be interested to see, not only the clothes, but also the whole
atmosphere that is put across through the exhibition. Anyone who has seen any
of the original Alexander McQueen fashion shows, will know that he would create
an atmosphere for his shows through the lighting, music and layout, so I hope
that they reflect this in the exhibition.
